6 Days Rwanda Cultural Tour

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
You will be met and greeted by our company tour guides on arrival at the Kigali international Airport. After they will brief you about the safari and later transfer you to your hotel/Lodge. If you arrive in time you can go for Kigali city tour, visit the Kigali memorial site, marketing centre, cultural sites among other interesting places around Kigali. Dinner and an overnight at Kigali Serena Hotel (Luxury), Mille Collines Hotel (Midrange), and Chez Lando Hotel (Budget)

Day 2: Drive to Ruhengeri
The morning is followed with a heavy breakfast, then after a guide will drive you to the north- western park of Rwanda to Ruhengeri, this place is commonly known as the Land of a Thousand Hills. On arrival check in into your accommodation for relaxation and lunch. After you will have a tour around the lively and friendly town centre; visit the clay fields and see a group of brick makers an amazing activity and if interested you can join them. After this wonderful enjoyment you will drive back to the lodge and have a traditional dinner and also be entertained by a local dance group, have a chance to see the cultural dances. Day 3: Visit to the Lakes.
Have breakfast, then after together with your guide you will visit the gorgeous region of the twin Lakes that’s Burera and Ruhondo and also get interacted with the local fishermen and also see their fishing methods also watch their fishing competition with children from the nearby villages. You will also get introduced to the traditional sustainable farming methods with African vegetables and fruits. Have lunch in the nearby community. Then you will also enjoy a launch cruise in one of the traditional canoes; visit also the local witch doctors and the snake man. After this wonderful enjoyment, Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight at Luxury: Sabyinyo Silverback, Mid range: Le Bombou Lodge, Budget: Kinigi Guest House

Day 4: Drive north of Lake Kivu and visit tea plantations
Wake up leisurely in the morning for a heavy breakfast, then after you will be driven to Gisenyi town located at the northern shores of Lake Kivu, here you will visit the tea plantations, do some shopping at a farmers market especially the local food, then, have a tour of the city which repeatedly gained tragic publicity in the past decade because of enormous refugee camps, hunger, epidemics and, recently, a devastating volcanic eruption that reminded of the fate of the historic town of Pompeii. After all these visits drive back to Kigali for a dinner and an overnight at Kigali Serena Hotel (Luxury), Mille Collines Hotel (Midrange), and Chez Lando Hotel (Budget)

Day 5: Visit to the Palace.
Have breakfast and then after Drive to Nyanza, the historical site of the ancient Rwandan kings and visit the Palace, then drive to Butare, Rwanda’s cultural centre and visit the National Museum. Drive back to Kigali for lunch. After tour the city and visit interesting places like the market center. In the early evening, you will get to see performances done by the members of a Batwa Pottery Project with an introduction to the life of the first Rwandans, their art of pottery as well as singing, drumming and dancing, if interested you will join then in drumming and dancing. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Kigali Serena Hotel (Luxury), Mille Collines Hotel (Midrange), and Chez Lando Hotel (Budget)

Day 6: Kigali City Tour and Return Home
After breakfast, if your travel time is in the evening you will first go for Kigali city tour and visit the interesting places you missed out in first tour, visit a pottery project, handicraft shops, the Franco-Rwandan cultural centre, the Museum and the genocide memorial. Enjoy lunch enroute and then Transfer to the airport reaching in time to meet your flight back home.
