DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park (6-7hrs)
Upon your arrival at the airport you will be greeted and welcomed by our company tour guide who will brief you and later transfer you to the park. On your way to the park enroute stop over will be made to visit tourist sites like the King’s palace in Nyanza and also the Cultural Museum in Butare. Have lunch en route and later on drive past green tea fields which are scattered on the hillsides of the road and also small wooden houses all the way to Nyungwe. Arrive at the park in the late evening; check in for relaxation and later Dinner and overnight at Gisakura Guest House, Nyungwe Forest Lodge or Nyungwe Hill Top View Hotel (FB)

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Nyungwe Forest National Park
Have breakfast, and then after, you will be lead by the guide to the forest to search for the man’s closest relative the chimps. They are fabulous fan to watch as their playing in fruitful trees. Chimpanzee tracking is unpredictable as trekking may take between 1-6 hours as it depends on their movement. And ounce found you strictly allowed spending only one hour with them. There are several other primates in Nyungwe such as the Rwenzori colobus, Hoest Monkey, silver monkey, owl faced monkey, red tailed monkey, vervet monkey and olive baboon, birds can also be seen during the trekking. After the activity came back to the lodge for leisure. You may decide to spend the evening at leisure OR if you have the energy this evening go for a guided nature walk in the forest to see a variety of animals and several species of birds.
